Dear reader: 

As Pastor for the Highlands Congregation in Kansas City, Missouri, I am pleased to promote the ministries of our congregation on this website. It is my hope that after prayerfully considering the content of this site, that you will choose to join us in worship and in mission for the Lord. I trust our fellowship will be enriched by your presence and I pray that you will find comfort and challenge in the information provided here.  

We always seek to reflect the ministry of the Holy Spirit affirming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of all who accept Him. We are a people that strive to find authentic relationship with Jesus and through Him with others including yourself. Having said that, I will not offer you a church without flaw because we are imperfect as humans. I will offer you a genuine invitation to join our fellowship in the critical journey for God’s reign in our community and though we must honestly claim our flaws, we truly serve an awesome God who is leading us forward in amazing grace with abundant blessings. 

We are undergoing a wonderful transformation as a congregation in order to live up to the name “Community of Christ” on theses grounds where the church resides. We yearn for relationship with all humanity and consider our welfare inseparably connected to the welfare of all others. We have a deep and abiding response to scripture and the primary role it must play if we are to experience truly meaningful and whole lives with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
