Darrell and Megan recorded Season of Change, a fine collection of songs and tunes, in 1995. Darrell is a multi-talented musician whose credits include popular Midwestern bands such as the LA Ramblers, the Red Zone, Tofu Teddy, the Deal and Uncle Dirtytoes. His career as a solo performer has been long and interesting, including opening for artists such as Steve Goodman, Roger McGuinn, Johnny Clegg and Savuka, Rennaisance, and David Allen Coe. Darrell has been influenced from his astonishingly vast repertoire to create original songs that are unique and inspired. He is also the companion of a most excellent dog named Esau.
Megan is a most sought-after violinist, pinnacle of charm, and wearer of hats. See her bio with Uncle Dirtytoes.
"Darrell Lea has teamed up with Megan Hurt to produce one of the year's best... like if Bob Neuwirth were a not-too-devout Celtic fan... Lea and Hurt combine all kinds of country-based American idioms and old-country antecedents." Dave Cantwell, Kansas City New Times.
You can download some sound clips! Your choices are "Jeffrey's Song," (432K) a most excellent instrumental, or "It Don't Matter," (549K) a song about existentialism and angst, but cheerful.
